Save money and secure your spot by registering your team before the early bird deadline! Where is the race held?Activities take place at Olmsted Beach located on the beautiful shores of Trout Lake in North Bay, ON Canada.What is a dragon boat?A dragon boat is almost 12 metres long, with a dragon head at the front. It holds 20 paddlers, a drummer, and a steer-person. Dragon boats are very stable, so it's easy for beginners to participate. Crews race 500 metres.How many paddlers do we need?Each crew must have 20 paddlers and one drummer. The crew is comprised of women and men. We require that each crew have a healthy representation of women in their boat (minimum of eight). The North Bay Canoe Club provides the steer-person for each team. If you can't fill an entire boat, contact us and we will join two or more groups together for the event.SEE YOU ON THE WATER!!! |
